Lake Count-i-Con is a creator-run comic con held at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Grayslake, IL Aug 27th-28th. This convention is comic book fan-friendly with plenty of vendors, comic book artists and creators of the entertainment fields. With plenty of family-oriented events, it’s sure to be a fun time!
This year, Lake Count-i-Con is dedicated to a Manny Popoca, our founder, a great man who was brought down by life well before his time. Manny still had a lot to offer this world and we don’t plan to let his dream die. Lake Count-i-Con and PopCultHQ are working together to prevent this tragedy from striking others and offering a charity fundraiser in his name.
Manny was an inspiration to many in the geek community; he always found something inspirational in everyone and took time for everyone he met. He worked tirelessly at everything he did, always striving to move forward with his life. He found his calling as a writer, blogging for Moviepilot.com, and then founded his own entertainment media site PopCultHQ. He frequented comic cons interviewing actors, writers, directors, artists, celebrities and comic book creators. He was passionate about writing and loved almost everything about the entertainment world. His eyes were brighter and his smile filled with pride when he spoke of his work. Most of all, Manny loved spending time with his family.
PopCultHQ will have a booth at Lake Count-i- Con with their own fundraiser where they will be selling signed prints and other merchandise with all of the proceeds going directly to a fund for Manny’s children.
Lake County’s biggest Comic, Toy, Game and Art convention, Lake Count-I- Con 2015 will be held at the Lake County Fairgrounds convention hall on August 27th and 28th . Check them out for a great time.
