Hey there, Dragon Con fans! Regardless if you have or haven’t been to Dragon Con before, let me tell you about some of the contests Dragon Con has to offer. Whether you want to compete or just witness some of the amazing work fans put into their favorite hobby, this is the place for you.
Page to Stage – Thursday
Characters from literature are brought to life and compete for 1st place. Prejudging is at 6:30 pm and the contest kicks off at 8:00 pm in the Hyatt International Ballroom. Preregistration and Dragon Con Badge required.
Night Costuming Contest – Friday
Held in the Marriott Atrium Ballroom, at 8:30 pm, this contest is for Costumers of varying levels from expert to novice and for groups or individuals. Costumes can be original or mainstream characters. The expert judges will be looking for workmanship, design, and inspiration.
Cults of Dragon Con – Saturday
These are contests paying tribute to the many cults of Dragon Con, such as the Marriott Carpet Attire, the Googly Eyes, the Dancing T-Rexs, or even the Homage to the Fed Ex cutout; there will be contests for many of them. Locations will be listed in the Dragon Con app, so don’t forget to download it. Registration starts at 5:30 pm and the show starts at 7:00 pm.

Masquerade – Sunday
In a tradition of convention costuming that goes back nearly 50 years in the sci-fi genre, Dragon Con brings you one of the biggest in the world. HThe Masquerade is held in the Hyatt Centennial Ballroom at 8:30 pm and preregistration is required.
Splendid Teapot Racing – Sunday
This is where Steampunk fans come to race custom-built, remote-controlled vehicles carrying Teapots and guiding them through an obstacle course for fun and prizes. It’s a child-friendly event and fun for everyone. It will be held at 10:00 am at the Courtland Grand in the Grand Ballroom.
Robot Battles – Sunday/Monday
The Robot Battles will be held in the Hyatt International Ballroom on Sunday at 10:00 am for the Lightweight division bouts, and in the Hyatt Regency IV/VII on Monday at 11:30 am for the Heavyweight division bouts. Yes, Robot Battles have returned again this year and Dragon Con is very proud to have them back.

Dragon Con takes place annually on Labor Day weekend. HOURS
The convention opens at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and runs around the clock until 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Yep – you heard us right – that’s 96 hours of continuous enjoyment and excitement so come rested and ready to be overwhelmed with options on what to do. With so many amazing things going on all hours of the day, we recommend you check the app for times.

Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
