Metrocon is Florida’s largest Anime convention and is held annually in Tampa. This event features over 100,000 sq ft of vendors and artists, over 450 hours of scheduled shows and panel content, video game arcade, tabletop gaming, contests, and cosplay. This was the 20th year for the convention. It started in 2003 t the Crowne Plaza Hotel and after growth moved to the Tampa Convention Center in 2005. It has only gotten bigger and better since.
The event was very well received with only a few complaints. Most complaints were focused on scheduling and starting of the panels, as it appears many panels started and ran late. There are also a lot of requests for a table dedicated to the guest cosplayers. On the positive side, people were delighted with the food selection and the rave.
