FAN EXPO Denver has come and gone from the Colorado Convention Center. This was three days of family friendly adventure.
This convention features some of the best experiences you will find in the Denver geek scene. They invited some of the biggest names from comics, popular sci-fi and fantasy TV shows, movies, horror, Japanese animation, toys, gaming, celebrity panels, and cosplay to participate. The experiences were unlimited. You could go shopping, attend a panel, visit a celebrity, get your favorite artist’s signature, or just sit back and watch it all.
There were several issues reported by attendees and vendors, the biggest and most obvious complaint being the smell of sewage over by the photo ops. I have not been able to find more information on it, so I don’t know the source or if it was rectified. Common consensus seems to be that it is a ‘dry-pipe’ issue, which the convention center has had before. Unfortunately, if this was the fault of the center, there wasn’t much FAN EXPO could do about it.
Other reported issues were pretty standard for conventions of this size. The other issues included lack of food vendors, over crowding, over selling of autograph tickets, delayed photo ops, and rescheduled or moved panels with no notification.

The cosplay, however, was on-point. Thanks to Wonder Virginia we get to see some of it.
