Review:

Mississippi Zombie is like Tales of the Crypt with your very own zombie keeper host. With short quick-paced tales of daily life in Southerner’s living with zombies in the Mississippi swamps. No characters to really have to worry about here since mostly everyone dies, with some humor of course. If you’re from the bayou and want to escape the hot dog days of summer, pick up a copy of Mississippi Zombie to read and swat them pesky mosquitos with.

No need to be overly critical here, you know what you get from seeing it and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s just that this will not become a hugely commercial success like TWD or Z-Nation unless the creators put a lot more into what people expect from a refined blockbuster. This is as underground independent as it gets and it will still garner tons of local and hard-core mature zombie fans. That could just very well be just what the creators want, to have just a good ol’ boys time making comics and that’s a huge success in my book, for not everyone can get to make a published comic book. Not my cup of tea per say, but still a very fun romp-ride in mature horror tales.
