New movie releases are still somewhat slim pickings right now, but this weekend has a trio of new movies. There’s a horror film about an abducted 13-year-old who starts receiving phone calls on a disconnected cell phone from a killer’s previous victims, a new (and possibly final) Jackass movie, and a truly bizarre star-studded sci-fi film in which the moon has been knocked off its orbit and two former astronauts and a conspiracy theorist think they have the key to prevent the total annihilation of life on Earth – only to arrive on the moon and find they are completely unprepared for what they are about to face!

In Moonfall, a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurdling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler is convinced she has the key to saving us all – but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman believe her. These unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love, only to find that they might have prepared for the wrong mission.
