[Movie News] In Theaters This Week – February 26, 2021

Many theaters are still not open in the US. Some have had to close again due to health restrictions being put back in place or simply due to a lack of people coming in. While many big-name movies are pushing their release dates back even further, or choosing to premiere overseas first, a number of movies are still determined to make their way to theaters.

This weekend sees a trio of new movies released – a horror movie that takes place within a Jewish Orthodox community, a thriller about the world of opioids, and a new animated adventure about the dynamic duo of Tom and Jerry!

Crisis

Three stories about the world of opioids collide: a drug trafficker arranges a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation between Canada and the U.S., an architect recovering from an OxyContin addiction tracks down the truth behind her son’s involvement with narcotics, and a university professor battles unexpected revelations about his research employer, a drug company with deep government influence bringing a new “non-addictive” painkiller to market.
