1955 – The microwave oven, for home use, was introduced by The Tappan Company.
1978– “Halloween”, directed by John Carpenter, starring Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis in her film debut, is released
2010 – Sony takes its original cassette Walkman off the market
