1907 – Ringling Brothers Greatest Show on Earth buys Barnum & Bailey circus
1914 – Congress pass the Revenue Act mandating the first tax on incomes over $3,000.
2001 – “Grand Theft Auto III” is released, popularizing a genre of open-world, action-adventure video games, as well as spurring controversy around violence in video games.
2008 – Google Play is launched, the official app store for the Android operating system
2013 – “Thor: The Dark World”, directed by Alan Taylor, starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, premieres in London
