1940 – The first edition of the Ernest Hemingway novel “For Whom the Bell Tolls” is published.
1941 – Wonder Woman made her debut in “All-Star Comics” issue No. 8, published by All-American Comics Inc. of New York.
1957 – Jailhouse Rock starring Elvis Presley opens in Memphis, Tennessee
1959 – “The Guggenheim Museum”, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, opened in New York City.
1964 – “My Fair Lady” directed by George Cukor and starring Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn premieres in New York
