While we’re all staying at home, a lot of us are watching things online. With the plethora of videos available, and more being created every day, it’s an enjoyable way to pass the time and bring a little fun into our lives. Some of these may be brand new, some may be older, but here are a few of the videos I enjoyed this week.
Electronicos Fantasticos is a group in Japan that makes music from repurposed electronics. Scanners, monitors, fans, and more have been turned into musical instruments. Make sure to check out their channel for more!
On the subject of creating art with unusual objects, James Cook creates landscapes, portraits, and more with a typewriter. In this video, he recreates scenes of his native Essex, England that are simply stunning!
If you’re a fan of the Beatles, you know Yellow Submarine as one of their many hit songs. A couple in New Zealand decided to build their own yellow submarine on their land and turn it into an AirBNB. It all started with an old grain silo, was pieced together here and there, and through a lot of hard work and imagination, became the finished product you see here. Take a watch and marvel at the sheer ingenuity it take to create some thing like this. They also had plenty of fun decorating the inside, using a number of influences to make it a place that really looks like it would be a lot of fun to stay in. Once this is all over, maybe a trip to New Zealand would be in store?
Nandi Bushell is a 10-year-old music prodigy who decided to give Dave Grohl of The Foo Fighters a run for his money. Last month she challenged the musician by tweeting at him a video of her playing his band’s song “Everlong”. Not one to turn down a challenge, he played “Dead End Friends” from Them Crooked Vultures, which Grohl is apart of with Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones. Bushell posted her response, and it certainly does no disappoint! She matches Grohl beat for beat in truly epic fahion.
As much as people love their pets, sometimes it can be immensely frustrating when you need them to sit still while you trim their nails or groom them. This woman came up with an ingenious solution – cover your head in plastic wrap, smother it in peanut butter, and let your dog lick away!
