[Movie News] In Theaters This Week – August 21, 2020

Many theaters are still not open in the US. Some have had to close again due to health restrictions being put back in place or simply due to a lack of people coming in. While many big-name movies are pushing their release dates back even further, or choosing to premiere overseas first, a number of movies are still determined to make their way to theaters.

There’s only one new release this week, but it looks to be an interesting one. It’s a biopic of the inventor Nikola Tesla, who had many breakthroughs in the age of electricity and had a famous rivalry with Thomas Edison.

Tesla (PG-13)

A freewheeling take on visionary inventor Nikola Tesla, his interactions with Thomas Edison and J.P. Morgan’s daughter Anne, and his breakthroughs in transmitting electrical power and light.

Directed by Michael Almereyda

Starring: Ethan Hawke, Eve Hewson, Eli A. Smith, Josh Hamilton, Lucy Walters

Release date: August 21
