1851 – American inventor Isaac Singer patents the sewing machine
1865 – Disinfectant was used for the first time during surgery by Joseph Lister.
1930 – Clarence Birdseye is granted a patent for method for quick freezing food
1937 – Red Skelton appeared on network radio for the first time on the “Rudy Vallee Show” on NBC.
1939 – “The Wizard of Oz” premiered in Oconomowoc, WI. The movie premiered in Hollywood on August 15th.
1981 – IBM introduces its first Personal Computer (PC & PC-DOS version 1.0)
1988 – Movie “Last Temptation of Christ” is released
1990 – Sue, the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton found to date, is discovered by Sue Hendrickson in South Dakota.
