1880 – Wabash, Indiana is the first town to claim to be completely illuminated by electric lighting
1889 – The Eiffel Tower was opened on March 31st, 1889. It was made by Gustave Eiffel, for the centenary of the French Revolution.
1918 – first daylight savings time in US goes into effect
