1845 – Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” is first published, in the “New York Evening Mirror”
1886 – A patent for the first petrol-powered car, the Benz Patent Motorwagen, was given to Karl Benz
1892 – The Coca-Cola Company is incorporated in Atlanta, Georgia
1944 – USS Missouri was launched at the New York Navy Yard
1959 – Disney releases the animated film “Sleeping Beauty” to theatres
1964 – “Dr Strangelove”, directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott, premieres
1988 – Tetris Enters United States
