1848 – Gold was found by James W. Marshall at Sutter’s Mill in Coloma, California, starting the California gold rush.
1899 – The rubber heel is patented, by Humphrey O’Sullivan
1915 – First transcontinental phone call Alexander Graham Bell in New York calls Thomas Watson in San Francisco and repeats his famous request “Mr. Watson, come here, I want you.”
1921 – The word “robot” is introduced to the world by the premier of the Czech play R.U.R.
1922 – First ice cream bar The Eskimo Pie is patented by C.K. Nelson.
1935 – The first canned beer “Krueger Cream Ale,” by Krueger Brewing Co. of Richmond, Va. Goes on sale.
1970 – “M*A*S*H* The movie” premiers.
1980 – Black Entertainment Television (BET) begins broadcasting
1993 – “Kung Fu: The Legend Continues” debuts
1996 – DOS Bulletin Board System Remote Access BBS Released to Public
