[Movie News] In Theaters This Week – October 4, 2019

If you’re looking for some oddball movies to get you in the Halloween spirit this weekend, not only is there the new Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix, but there is a documentary about a clown in Florida that parents can hire to scare their misbehaving children, as well as a Natalie Portman film about an astronaut who starts to lose touch with reality after returning to Earth. Even more than that will be available this weekend, so kick back and enjoy a weekend at the movies!

Joker centers around an origin of the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Todd Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.
