Wizard World came to Chicago this weekend, August 22-25th, and we are there to cover it.
This year’s celebrity line-up was a chaotic jumble, as stars were added at the last minute and others cancelled. Originally the headliner was Jason Momoa, but he cancelled to protest an Observatory being built on sacred Hawaiian land.
Scrambling for last minute headliners, Wizard World did pretty well and brought in both John Travolta and Jeff Goldblum (Definitely a “J” theme of celebs this year). Not too shabby. Of course, the fans of Jason were still upset.
It didn’t make fans any happier when the celebrity schedules didn’t go up until Thursday morning. Most people would normally have had their weekends already planned out, but they had to wait until the last minute. The last minute changes were understandable, due to the celeb changes, but still not appreciated.
Thursday is the day to go. This is when you can scope out the floor, talk to people, and get a good layout of the land. You can also pick up your passes without waiting forever in line.
And of course, there was cosplay. Thank you, everyone!
