With only two movies left in the Fast and Furious franchise, fans have been curious as to where the story would take us.
On Wednesday, October 25th, in a Facebook Live video, Vin Diesel revealed two key components of the next story. We would see the return of original Fast and Furious star Jordana Brewster (Mia Toretto) and director Justin Lin.
Mia Toretto was a key character in the original film and ended up being married to Brian (Paul Walker) in subsequent films, thus cementing the ‘family’ which is a key strength to the film series. With the death of Paul Walker, and the retirement of his character Brian, it is uncertain how they will bring the character Mia back into the films.
Director Justin Lin was last attached to the franchise on Fast and Furious 6 and previously directed four of the franchise films. Vin Diesel refers to him as one of the “forefathers of Fast” and “the one responsible for resurrecting this beautiful saga.”
It will be interesting to see where this franchise heads as it reaches its conclusion.
