
Pairing Science with Fiction
Silicon Valley Comic Con (SVCC), Steve Wozniak’s pop culture and technology expo, is only a few days away! Taking place April 21-23, 2017 in downtown San Jose, Silicon Valley Comic Con aims to inspire and entertain with celebrity appearances, science/tech discussions, film and TV screenings, panels with award-winning authors and artists, cosplay contests and more.
In addition to celebrating the pop culture and technology of today, SVCC 2017 will feature a series of themed exhibits and sessions focused on the “Future of Humankind: Where will we be in 2075?” SVCC 2017 attendees will be able to hear visions of the future from high profile guests and companies spanning a variety of industries. Here’s a look at the featured guests for the 2017 SVCC:
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Silicon Valley Comic Con will host a special ticketed event “Star Trek: The Next Generation 30th Anniversary Reunion” hosted by William Shatner and featuring Jonathan Frakes (Commander Riker), LeVar Burton (Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi), Brent Spiner (Data), Michael Dorn (Lieutenant Worf) and Gates McFadden (Dr. Crusher). Additional cast members will join the panel and be announced at a later date. This will be the first 30th anniversary reunion event to take place for “Star Trek: The Next Generation” in 2017.
ADDITIONAL CELEBRITIES
Grant Gustin, star of the hit television series “The Flash,”and Tom Felton, Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter films and Super Villain Doctor Alchemy on “The Flash,” have been added to the show’s guest lineup. This marks Grant’s first ever appearance at any Comic Con. Fans will get a chance to meet Grant and Tom for photos, autographs and a special Q&A session.
Grant will appear Sunday, April 23. Tom will be at SVCC on Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22. They will appear on-stage together for a fan Q&A on Sunday.
Grant and Tom join an already star-studded lineup of high-profile guests at SVCC 2017, including recently announced guests John Cusack of “Being John Malkovich,” “High Fidelity” and “Sixteen Candles;” Gina Torres of “Suits” and “Firefly;” and Billy Boyd, who played Peregrin “Pippin” Took in Peter Jackson’s epic film trilogy “The Lord of the Rings.” Adam Savage (host of “MythBusters” and Tested.com) will also return to Silicon Valley Comic Con 2017. Additional guest highlights who were previously announced include:
