Tangled fans rejoice! The animated movie based on the story of Rapunzel is getting its own animated series. Tangled: The Series will be coming to the Disney Channel, but it will first kick off with an original movie titled Tangled: Before Ever After.
Disney recently released the first 5 minutes of the movie, which gives a brief recap of Tangled, then launches straight into the action.
Both the original movie and the series take place between Tangled and the animated short Tangled: Ever After, which shows Rapunzel and Flynn Rider’s (aka Eugene) wedding.
It’s worth noting that Rapunzel seems to have regained her magical blond locks, which fans know were cut off at the end of Tangled. The official synopsis states that Rapunzel and her lady-in-waiting Cassandra “embark on a secret adventure where they encounter mystical rocks that magically cause Rapunzel’s long blonde hair to grow back. Impossible to break and difficult to hide, Rapunzel must learn to embrace her hair and all that it represents.”
Tangled: Before Ever After will air at 8pm ET/7pm CT March 10th and Tangled: The Series premieres March 24th. Tangled: The Series has already been renewed for a second season.
