CBCS to Debut NEW Logo & Brand @ SDCC + The “Newsstand Mint” Collection!

CBCS launches New Logo and Brand

Comic Book Certification Service, the revolutionary comic book grading company, just introduced the company’s enhanced logo and updated corporate brand. CBCS’s rebranding represents the company’s emergence as the industry leader for providing reliable, trustworthy grading standards and  secure preservation options for comic books from every era.

The logo redesign reflects CBCS‘s growing strength and its confidence that the company will continue to improve the industry well into the future. Based on the original CBCS design, which signified dependability and durability, the new logo was designed to evoke a greater sense of confidence, strength, service and protection. To the team at CBCS, the logo represents a broader ideal that a grading company should not only assign grades to these prized collectibles, but also be dedicated to protect them as well.

The newly designed label serves as a bold, easily identifiable counterpart to the company’s crystal clear holder, that does not detract from the eye-appeal of a graded and encapsulated comic book.

The label’s design and new text allows for collectors to easily identify key features of a CBCS graded book—even from several feet away.

We’ve also branded the label with the new CBCS logo, containing a field of holofoil, to enhance the presentation of your treasured comic books.

The new CBCS label went into live production on Monday, July 11th. Any order that went into slab production on, or after, that date will get the new label. All orders that were encapsulated before that date received the last of the prior version labels.

CBCS’s new tagline is:

The choice is crystal clear.

This tagline invites customers to compare CBCS’s service and superior comic book holder to other grading companies. After doing so, the choice will be clear.

While the brand, tagline and logo have changed to better represent what the company is today, CBCS’s value proposition remains the same—the application of consistent grading standards, exceptional customer engagement, and unequaled expertise in grading, protecting, and showcasing comics for hobbyists and collectors alike.
The newly designed label serves as a bold, easily identifiable counterpart to the company’s crystal clear holder, that does not detract from the eye-appeal of a graded and encapsulated comic book.

CBCS is unveiling its new look to collectors during the International Comic Con: San Diego at booth 1101.

This will be our first booth at SDCC, and we are very excited to be a part of the guest list this year. We can’t wait to meet our West Coast fans and answer any questions they might have.

We will be taking submissions at our booth, as well as providing witnesses for signatures, so don’t forget to stop by booth 1101 before getting your comics signed. We will also have samples of the new CBCS labels at the booth for everyone to see.

*Please join CBCS at the panel at San Diego Comic Con titled,“Overstreet: 46 and Counting.”

Expert collectors, dealers, historians, and creators including Steve Borock (CBCS), Maggie Thompson (former Comics Buyer’s Guide editor), Gary M. Carter (former Guide editor, CBM founder), and others, will discuss what makes reading and collecting comics so great, and how the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide has played a major role in fandom.

You will also find out what’s coming up in the months ahead from Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide staffers J. C. Vaughn and Mark Huesman.

The panel will be held Saturday July 23 from Noon until 1 pm in Room 9.

We hope to see you all at SDCC!

CBCS is proud to announce a significant one-owner collection that has been entrusted to us for certification. The “Newsstand Mint” collection.

SB 1“We at CBCS are very proud to have graded this exceptionally high grade collection!” stated Steve Borock, CBCS President and Primary Grader. The name “Newsstand Mint” aptly describes the quality of these books. One feature that sets this collection apart is the fantastic page quality, as the vast majority have White Pages!

Steve added, “The Newsstand Mint collection was a pleasure to grade, many of these books are now the highest graded and encapsulated in our hobby. These books are only “Phase 1″ of the collection, and have been some of the best comics to come across my desk.”

Don’t miss the opportunity to purchase some of these great comic books for your collection via Heritage Auctions, and at the Heroes/Champion Comics booth at the San Diego Comic Con this July 20th through 24th.

Visit the Heroes/Champion Comics booth at Comic Con, #5510/#5512 at the entrance of Hall B. Directly across from that booth is the Heritage Auction booth #900, where you can view some of the top books on display prior to the auction.

Steve Borock and the CBCS staff will be set up at the San Diego Comic Con at booth #1101, so stop by to submit your comic books to CBCS for grading, ask questions, or just to say hello. We always look forward to meeting new collectors as well as seeing those of you we already know.
