As we anxiously await season three of Fox’s Gotham, the studio apparently wants to tease us a little more. Just announced are the additions of two actresses set to come on board this fall and will certainly be spicing things up.
Jamie Chung (Once Upon a Time) has been tapped for a recurring role as Valerie Vale. If that name strikes a chord it’s likely because you may recall another Vale from a DC Comics film in the 80s… Vicki Vale (portrayed by Kim Bassinger). Valerie is actually Vicki’s aunt, so Chung’s character could have some lasting effects in the Gotham universe. Valerie will be introduced to the series as the newest writer for the Gotham Gazette, a tenacious and scrappy reporter on the trail of uncovering the truth in everything. Look for Vale to interact a lot with Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie).
Also new to the cast is Maggie Geha (Ted 2) who will be taking on the role of Ivy Pepper. But wait, what happened to 14-year old Clare Foley? According to Fox, Geha (28) will be playing a 19 year-old Ivy Pepper. The studio claims her age increase occurs, “following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill,” in which she is “reborn.” Geha’s portrayal will bring her “one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy.”
As you can tell, season three looks to be adding quite a punch with these two, let alone Bruce’s doppleganger (teased at the end of season two) and the Mad Hatter’s arrival.
Gotham‘s third season is set to premiere on Monday, Sept. 19 at 8/7.
