In a joint statement made today (2/3/16), executive producers from The Cw’s The Flash and CBS’ Supergirl announced that the crossover fans have wanted and anticipated is coming to fruition. Grant Gustin will appear on the March 28th episode (entitled “Worlds Finest“) of Supergirl. Details have not been disclosed, but it looks like Barry Allen will depart from Central City and visit National City in a cross-network promotion.
“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making ‘Supergirl‘ – The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up!,” say executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg in a joint statement on Wednesday. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”
With this television cross-network use of DC Universe characters, could characters from other CW shows, like Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, see the day of light as well? Time will tell. Let’s revel in this news for now.
Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, while The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
