On June 23, 2015 the next installment of the Batman: Arkham series of video games will be released.  The highly anticipated game, Batman: Arkham Knight, is set one year following the events of Batman: Arkham City.  Batman, at the top of his game, is on the hunt for the Scarecrow, who is rounding up Gotham’s villains in an attempt to kill the caped crusader.  The game received a “Mature” rating, rather than the typical “Teen” one they receive.  This is due to the existence of scenes where players can shoot unarmed characters and a hostage, and torture scenes taking place on a bloody operating table.  Despite the more stringent rating, the developers did not want to make any changes to bring it to “Teen” status.  They felt that would detract from their vision and story.

In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady‘s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City. Be The Batman.
