Saturday, February 18th was the 10-year anniversary of SYFY Bartow. This annual sci-fi event is held in the heart of Bartow, FL in Polk County. SYFY Bartow is one of many events put on by Main Street Bartow Inc., a nonprofit organization in an effort to bring awareness and visitors to their town. It also acts as a fundraiser for town improvement projects. Check out mainstreetbartowfl.com for other great events they host.
Unlike many conventions, this event chooses to focus on the those they call “behind-the-scenes people.” They are referring to cosplayers, independent filmmakers, actors, and up-and-coming artists and authors.
The theme for this year’s event was Star Trek and thanks to Nocedo Photo, we get to see some for the great costuming that was on-site.
