Star-Lord aka Peter Quill will be voiced by former Boy Meets World actor Will Friedle. Being a hero isn’t new to Friedle as he has previously voiced Terry McGinnis in Batman Beyond, Blue Beetle in Batman: The Brave and the Bold as well as Deadpool in Ultimate Spider-Man. Other heroic roles included Prince Ragnar in Green Lantern:The Animated Series and Bumblee in Transformers:Robots in Disguise.

Trevor Deval has been cast as the smart-mouthed, gun-toting Rocket Raccoon. This is familiar territory for Deval who had previously voiced Rocket in the 2014 episode of Ultimate Spider-Man which featured the Guardians. Strangely enough the voice for my favorite character, Groot, from that episode will also be returning. Kevin Michael Richardson will be returning to his 2014 character. They have now also announced that David Sobolov will be returning to voice Drax the Destroyer.

“follows the newly formed team who finds a strange artifact keyed only to the DNA of Peter Quill. Upon opening it, Quill unleashes a treasure map leading to a powerful weapon known as the Cosmic Seed which is capable of giving birth to the next universe. It’s up to the Guardians to find, protect and ultimately destroy the Cosmic Seed in order to keep it out of the hands of those who would abuse its power, from galactic big boss Thanos, to the conniving brothers the Collector and the Grandmaster, to a resurrected Ronan, to the ultimate trickster, Loki, in order to save the universe.” – Marvel Press Release
