The multi-award winning Image comic Sex Criminals is being adapted to TV. Created by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky this comic has won both the Eisner and Harvey awards and was named best comic of the year by Time magazine in 2013.
Sex Criminals is a monthly comic about a female librarian (Suzie) and a male actor (Jon) who meet at a party and discover that they share the ability to freeze time when they orgasm. Jon works at a bank and Suzie’s library is in jeopardy so they decide to use their time-freezing sex antics to rob Jon’s bank to get the money needed for the library. From there, things just progress. Sex Criminals is the first project that comic book couple Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick have planned in their two-year TV deal with Universal TV. It will be interesting to see what other series they plan to bring to TV.
